Just fitted one of these in my Amstrad HD box and all is well so far and very quiet.

When you performed this upgrade, did you require any other wires? i.e was it just a straight swap?

Drives over 508Gb can not be formatted directly by a Sky box. They will be formatted to some lower capacity, in the case of a 750GB drive to only 242GB.
You must use Copy+ to "initialise" this drive by copying an existing disk onto it. Therefore it is not a "straight swap".

But in terms of connect to the Sky box, no extra wires are required. However you may require some to connect the drive to your PC.
