FAQs: Sky+ Compatibility

Postby Admin » Thu Aug 16, 2007 12:22 pm

Can I copy between box model X and Y?

Yes! Version 1.2.0.1 of Copy+ introduced a conversion feature that should make all boxes compatible.
Please see the compatilility page for futher details.

Is Copy+ compatible with the new HD (High Def) Sky boxes?

Yes. It would appear so.

The maximum HDD size supported by the Thomson HD box would appear to be 1TB.
Arrays of drives have been constructed to test larger sizes (e.g. 2TB) and there appears to be a fundamental limitation in the Sky firmware which prohibits drives over 1TB.

Which hard drives are compatible with Sky+?

Please check out Stuarts Sky+ pages.

If you've used a new drive from those listed then please let us know the make and model of drive and box, and Stuart will update the list accordingly.

Will Copy+ work with the XTV based PVR solutions from DirecTV, FoxTel, Sky Latin America, Viasat...?

Release 1.1.0.8 (and later) of Copy+ is compatible with the XTV products of Sky in the UK, DirecTV in the US and SkyLA (Latin America) in Brazil. This is because these platforms are all based on the same XTV disk format from NDS.

However there are some subtle differences between each platform, which require me to add support on a per-system basis. If you would like us to support your particular XTV compatible system, please contact us and we will let you know the information that we require.
